Dr. Roberta Hindenlang is an experienced family medicine physician who strives to develop close relationships with her patients and their families.
"I like to know the entire family and social dynamics," she said. "I’ve had many multigenerational families and would like to continue that practice."
She was inspired to go into medicine after experiencing gentle, compassionate care from her medical team when she was a patient and strives to give patients that same experience.
Dr. Hindenlang believes it is important to establish care with a primary care physician before problems arise for a number of reasons.
"Primary care is so important in order to maintain a healthy body by keeping vaccinations up to date and receiving age-appropriate procedures," she said. "Doing these things can detect abnormalities which can often be treated before they cause illness."
With a special interest in diabetic care, Dr. Hindenlang works with patients to help control or reverse their condition to avoid related problems.
"Keeping the body healthy and youthful can go a long ways toward living a longer, healthier life," she said.
Dr. Hindenlang received her Bachelor of Science in biology from Arizona State University and earned her medical degree from the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific in Pamona, California.
Having grown up in Phoenix, she spent several months in Tucson during her medical student days and fell in love with the culture and vibe of the Old Pueblo. She has lived and practiced family medicine here since 1991.
