Frequently asked questions
All patients will be asked for a identification (ID card, driver's license or other form of identification) and an insurance card. Payment is required at the time of service. We accept cash, checks, Visa/Mastercard and Discover. We do not accept "Debit Only" cards.
If you have you completed your new-patient profile and health history, in MyChart, plan to arrive 15 minutes earlier than your scheduled appointment. Otherwise, please arrive 30 minutes prior to your appointment in order to complete your new-patient information. See What is MyChart below for more information on MyChart accounts.
It is also helpful to bring a list of questions for your provider or other health care professional. Many times, patients feel rushed or forget to ask questions when they are in our office. It's important to us that all of your questions are addressed during your visit.
Please bring your medication bottles with you to your appointment.
Standard hours of operation are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Extended hours available. We have physicians with same-day appointments.
Unexpected things happen. We understand. If you need to cancel your appointment, we request you notify us at least 24 hours prior to your visit. Patients who do not show up for their appointment without a call to cancel an office appointment or procedure appointment will be considered as NO SHOW. Patients who no-show three times in a 12-month period, may be dismissed from the practice and determined ineligible for future appointments.
A same-day appointment is for established patients with an acute illness, such as a cold, sore throat, rash, etc. These appointments are shorter in length and are solely to address the acute illness. Your provider offers same-day appointments, but if the provider's schedule is full for the day, you may be referred to one of our same-day doctors. These doctors are able to access your health records and communicate with your regular provider about your visit. For a same-day appointment, please contact your primary care provider's office.
TMCOne offers on-site laboratory services at many of our primary care clinics. The services are only for TMCOne patients with their providers' orders. Sites with laboratory services are noted on our locations page.
If you are having a life-threatening emergency, call 911.
We ask that you contact us during normal business hours for:
- medication refills - please request refills at least three business days prior to needing your medication
- requests for test results
- referrals and prior authorizations
- appointment scheduling and cancellations
- non-urgent medical questions
In the evening and on the weekends, we have a provider on call for urgent medical symptoms and concerns that should not wait until the next business day. You may reach the provider-on-call by calling your provider’s office; the on-call service will then contact the provider-on-call.
The provider-on-call will speak with you about your urgent concern and recommend next steps. Please know that it’s not always possible for our providers to resolve your medical problem by phone. Recommendations may include seeking medical care after hours, simple steps you take at home for your symptoms or recommending follow up with your primary care provider during business hours.
Because we value comprehensive, safe medical care, we typically do not prescribe medications on call.
Remember that if you are having a life threatening emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department. TMC is our preferred hospital and emergency department.
Approval of your refill may take up to three business days so please request your refills early enough in advance of your medication running out. If you use a mail order pharmacy, please contact us 14 days before your medication is due for a refill.
The answering service will refer patient requests for routine medication refills back to the office during business hours.
Your health insurance may require prior authorization for some medications. This process takes at least three business days for your insurance company to make a determination. Please notify your provider at least five days prior to needing your refill if you have a medication you are worried about your insurance covering.
If you are told that you will need prior authorization on a medication when you arrive to the pharmacy, notify your provider so that we can start the authorization process. Pharmacies do fax prior authorization paperwork but can be delayed in submission.
